Known Limitations
No privacy system is perfect. This page describes the current limitations, assumptions, and tradeoffs of the Privacy Pump architecture.
Privacy Is Not Anonymity
Section titled “Privacy Is Not Anonymity”Privacy Pump improves financial privacy and coordination privacy, but it cannot guarantee complete anonymity in all situations.
Users may still reveal information through:
- Wallet reuse
- Public social media activity
- Off-chain communication
- Personal operational mistakes
Privacy technology is most effective when combined with good operational security practices.
Public Blockchain Environment
Section titled “Public Blockchain Environment”Privacy Pump operates on Solana.
While private routing and privacy infrastructure reduce transaction linkability, some blockchain activity remains publicly observable.
Examples include:
- Transaction timestamps
- Program interactions
- Network-level activity
- Public token transfers outside privacy workflows
Standard Vault Visibility
Section titled “Standard Vault Visibility”Standard vault structures are visible on-chain.
Depending on the vault type, some information may remain publicly accessible, including:
- Vault existence
- Asset balances
- Proposal states
- Governance activity
Privacy features primarily focus on routing, coordination, and future private membership systems.
Mobile Wallet Differences
Section titled “Mobile Wallet Differences”Not all mobile wallets behave identically.
Users may experience:
- Different signing flows
- Different connection prompts
- Different browser behavior
- Wallet-specific limitations
Privacy Pump attempts to provide a consistent experience across supported wallets.
Smart Contract Risk
Section titled “Smart Contract Risk”All blockchain applications carry inherent smart contract risk.
Although Privacy Pump is designed with security as a primary goal:
- Software bugs may exist
- Dependencies may change
- New attack vectors may emerge
Users should never deposit assets they cannot afford to lose.
Third-Party Dependencies
Section titled “Third-Party Dependencies”Privacy Pump relies on external infrastructure and technologies.
Examples may include:
- Solana network infrastructure
- Wallet providers
- RPC providers
- Privacy computation systems
- Communication layers
Temporary service interruptions may affect user experience.
Future Features
Section titled “Future Features”Some features described throughout the documentation are planned future enhancements and may not yet be available.
Examples include:
- Advanced routing modes
- Additional privacy primitives
- Expanded mobile functionality
- Future integration layers
- Advanced private membership systems
Always refer to the Roadmap page for the latest development status.
Continuous Improvement
Section titled “Continuous Improvement”Privacy Pump is an evolving platform.
Security reviews, architectural improvements, privacy enhancements, and usability upgrades will continue to be incorporated as the ecosystem develops.
Users should review release notes and updated documentation regularly.
