Creating a Vault
Introduction
Section titled “Introduction”Creating a vault is the first step to using Privacy Pump.
A vault acts as the home for your treasury, members, proposals, and privacy features.
During vault creation, you define:
- Vault identity
- Vault members
- Approval requirements
- Treasury governance rules
Once created, the vault becomes the central workspace for managing shared funds.
Before You Create A Vault
Section titled “Before You Create A Vault”Make sure you have:
- A supported Solana wallet
- Enough SOL for transaction fees
- Wallet addresses for any members you want to add
You can also create a vault by yourself and add members later.
Step 1 — Start Vault Creation
Section titled “Step 1 — Start Vault Creation”Open Privacy Pump and select:
Create Vault
The vault creation wizard will guide you through the setup process.
Step 2 — Enter Vault Details
Section titled “Step 2 — Enter Vault Details”Choose the basic information for your vault:
- Vault name
- Description
- Vault image
These details help identify the vault inside Privacy Pump.
You can update them later.
Step 3 — Add Members
Section titled “Step 3 — Add Members”Add the wallet addresses that will participate in the vault.
Members can:
- Approve proposals
- Participate in treasury management
- Access vault communication channels
Privacy Pump validates wallet addresses before continuing.
Step 4 — Configure The Approval Threshold
Section titled “Step 4 — Configure The Approval Threshold”The threshold determines how many approvals are required before a proposal can be executed.
Examples:
- 1 of 1 → One approval required
- 2 of 3 → Two approvals required
- 3 of 5 → Three approvals required
Higher thresholds generally provide stronger security for shared treasuries.
Step 5 — Review The Configuration
Section titled “Step 5 — Review The Configuration”Before creating the vault, Privacy Pump shows a summary of:
- Vault name
- Members
- Threshold
- Configuration settings
Review everything carefully before continuing.
Step 6 — Approve Creation
Section titled “Step 6 — Approve Creation”Confirm the transaction using your wallet.
Privacy Pump will:
- Create the vault
- Initialize treasury accounts
- Configure membership rules
- Store vault settings
Depending on network conditions, this process may take a few moments.
Step 7 — Enter Your New Vault
Section titled “Step 7 — Enter Your New Vault”After creation, Privacy Pump automatically opens the vault.
You will now have access to:
- Overview
- Treasury
- Proposals
- Members
- Settings
Your vault is ready to receive deposits and create proposals.

A 1-of-1 vault can be created with a single member.
Can I add members later?

Members can be added through proposals after the vault is created.

Threshold changes are managed through proposals.
Can I change the vault image and description later?

Vault profile information can be updated after creation.
