Core Concepts
What Is A Vault?
Section titled “What Is A Vault?”A vault is a secure space used to store and manage digital assets.
Think of it as a crypto treasury.
A vault can hold funds, receive deposits, create proposals, and manage spending rules.
Privacy Pump supports both personal vaults and multi-member vaults.
Personal Vault
Section titled “Personal Vault”A Personal Vault is controlled by a single user.
It provides a private space to organize assets and use Privacy Pump’s privacy features.
Personal vaults are ideal for:
- Individual users
- Traders
- Long-term holders
- Anyone who wants greater control over their financial privacy
Private Multisig
Section titled “Private Multisig”A Private Multisig is shared between multiple members.
Instead of one person controlling funds, actions require approval from multiple participants.
This reduces the risk of a single person making unauthorized decisions.
Private Multisigs are commonly used by:
- Teams
- Communities
- DAOs
- Project treasuries
- Organizations
Members
Section titled “Members”Members are the people who participate in a vault.
Depending on the vault configuration, members may approve proposals, manage treasury activity, or help govern shared funds.
Privacy Pump is designed to support private membership systems, reducing unnecessary public exposure of participants.
Threshold
Section titled “Threshold”The threshold defines how many approvals are required before an action can be executed.
Examples:
- 1 of 1 → One approval required
- 2 of 3 → Two approvals required
- 3 of 5 → Three approvals required
Higher thresholds generally provide stronger security for shared treasuries.
Proposal
Section titled “Proposal”A proposal is a request to perform an action inside a vault.
Examples include:
- Sending funds
- Updating settings
- Managing members
- Changing treasury configurations
Proposals create a transparent approval process before actions are executed.
Private Deposit
Section titled “Private Deposit”A Private Deposit moves funds into a vault through Privacy Pump’s privacy infrastructure.
The goal is to reduce the amount of information publicly exposed when funds enter a vault.
Private Deposits are designed to provide a simpler privacy experience without requiring users to understand the underlying technology.
Protected Withdrawal
Section titled “Protected Withdrawal”A Protected Withdrawal moves funds out of a vault through Privacy Pump’s privacy infrastructure.
Rather than exposing unnecessary information, withdrawals are routed through privacy-preserving systems before reaching their destination.
Private Routing
Section titled “Private Routing”Private Routing is the process Privacy Pump uses to reduce the amount of information visible during fund movement.
Users choose the experience.
The platform handles the routing logic.
Private Membership
Section titled “Private Membership”Private Membership is the ability to protect information about vault participants.
Instead of exposing every participant publicly, Privacy Pump is designed around the idea that membership information should be shared only when necessary.
Private Communication
Section titled “Private Communication”Privacy Pump includes secure communication tools designed specifically for vault participants.
Members can coordinate, discuss proposals, and manage treasury activity within protected communication channels.
Privacy Layer
Section titled “Privacy Layer”The Privacy Layer combines multiple privacy technologies into a single system.
Its purpose is simple:
- Protect membership information
- Protect treasury activity
- Protect communication
- Protect fund movement
while keeping the user experience simple.
Privacy Pump is a private vault platform that combines protected treasury management, private fund routing, private membership systems, and secure communication into a single user experience.
